It looks like it didn’t take long for scammers to find their way to the aviation section of Craigslist.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

why do you think it’s not legit?
Description sure looks right.
I didn’t see anything about annual inspections or if its air worthy or logs. But who knows.

As far as I know, they don’t generally go for $2000 unless parted out, no engine, no instruments etc.
Also, for some reason there is a car tire in the ad title (205/55R16 Hankook)?

You don’t think it has 205 55 R16 tires???
Funny thing is, an old 150 with 2100 SMOH really isn’t worth much money.

low profile wide rim wheels for the cessna. Fly in style. All girls’ panties will drop instantly when they see you up there... 5000 feet off the ground.... size of a spec

Hmm - I’ll have to give him a call since those tires will fit the Mazda. I’m not sure what I’ll do with the rest of the stuff, but that’s something to worry about later...

The description is decent.
However, the title for some reason references car tires. Also, the plane is registered in California, selling in Ohio, and the contact number is a Texas area code.
Unless they missed a zero this is ridiculously underpriced. This one is close to needing an engine overhaul, but I found one with no engine or instruments with an asking price of $4000.
The cheapest one that is complete and running I could find is $16000

My response to you accidentally posted as a separate response. I’m adding it here so you’ll see it. I’m not sure why it copied as bullet points.

My cellphone area code is from 3 states away. I know many who live 12 states away with similar area code. Bottom line is I don’t dwell much on area codes. Instead I get pissed off when people post ads or advertise their businesses without area code.
It being registered in Cali and being sold in Ohio is a bit of a yellow flag, but planes fly. End up all over the country too. Not sure what the rules are for how long a plane can be away from its registered state. Like if i move from state 1 to state 2, i have to register my cars and all in state 2 within certain number of days. I don’t know if same applies to planes or if it being registered anywhere in US is good enough... FAA is federal so might be all over us.

Technically, yes you are supposed to register a plane where you live (for tax) but it isn’t enforced in my experience. I owned a plane and kept it registered in NH where my parents were and lived (and kept it) in IA. I got a letter from IA about it and ignored it for the 3yr or so I had it there.
